This rose card and matching envelope is for a swap over in my ArtHaven group...We were to make a card in any shape but a rectangle and also include a matching envelope...So, I got out my watercolors and started playing around...I drew the rose on a piece of folded watercolor paper, then I cut the shape out, with really sharp scissors, leaving the fold a bit intact at the top for opening...I then did my painting with tube watercolors and watercolor pencils...I did a little more painting on the envelope to match the card...
I really enjoyed this swap and I'm hooked on watercolors again after a long time of not using them...I actually couldn't find them at first, but there they were tucked away in a drawer that I have no recollection of putting them in...LOL Whew!!! So glad I found them..
I'm going to paint some more flower cards soon... It's my thing right now...It feels so good to be painting again..I hope you like my rose card and that it makes you feel springy...Thanks so much for stopping by...I just love when you come to visit... Happy Easter Everyone!!!! Kathy

Vintage Sewing Tags
I used lots of lovely papers, vintage photos, vintage and new buttons, lace, twine, a paper doily and ribbon...The sewing pieces are made of chipboard and I painted each one with acrylic paint in a cream color with a tiny rose pattern...I distressed the edges with sepia paint for a vintage look and sealed them with a matte finish...
The tags can be displayed individually or in a banner fashion with the pink ribbon...My friend is going to hang them individually in her sewing room..I just so enjoyed this project...I did have one disaster, however..Half way through I knocked over a bottle of gold paint and ruined two of the tags and some of the chipboard pieces..I had to start all over again and it sure took me awhile to get back in the mood...Ugh!!
Well, I would love to know what you think of my latest project...I've missed you all and have neglected my blog for a bit, but I'm back again and working on a card with watercolors this time..I will have it done soon and hope not to knock anything over on it...LOL Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I so appreciate your comments.......Kathy

Valentine Tag
Hello Everyone!!! I'm back with a Valentine tag I made for a swap at my ArtHaven group...I wanted it to look like an old fashioned Valentine and I thought this lovely lady would make a great focal point...I added a red and white polka dot paper for the background, some paper lace hearts to frame her, some pretty pearl hearts and a swatch of floral lace at the bottom...The SMILE and LUV hearts are woodlets that I painted pink and then lettered...
I've been working, forever it seems, on a sewing tag book for a friend and hope to share it soon...I had a disaster that wiped out half my project and had to start all over again..I knocked over a bottle of gold paint and it just flew everywhere, mostly on 2 of the tags..It took me awhile to get my creativity back but I'm doing better now..Accidents will happen...Ugh!
Thank you for stopping by my blog..It's so good to see you....Kathy

Little Christmas Ladies
I'm back tonight with two more Christmas cards...Thank you to everyone who commented so kindly on my previous Christmas cards...So glad you liked them..
This little lady with her muff is so sweet..I used two different red themed papers for her background..I then added a shiny strip of gold ric rac to the bottom of the frame and placed three big poinsettias, with gold pearl centers, around the card...There is lots of glitter, for a nice sparkle, on her hat and muff but the camera didn't pick it up, unfortunately...
This second young lady is also posing with her toasty warm muff...I used a red and white stripe paper for the background and framed the picture on a piece of solid red card stock..I framed her in a wobbly pattern of gold string pearls and added a very fancy strip of white lace to the bottom..The top of the lace has a red and gold cording woven together...A red poinsettia, with a gold center pearl, sits in the top left corner..Her muff, the fur trim on her hat and coat are glittered, but again, not showing very well...Gotta love the big red bow on her hat...
I have a few more Christmas cards to post later, or tomorrow...Thanks so much, once again, for taking the time to look at my cards...I know how busy things are right now...Hope you are all enjoying the magic and joy of the Christmas Season...Kathy

Christmas Cards..Vintage Snow Lady, Skating Couple..
I have finally finished my Christmas cards for this year..I would like to have made more but time ran out..So, I am posting two today and some more tomorrow..This first card is my favorite, I think..I love this pretty Victorian lady in the snow holding her muff..The gorgeous background papers are from Graphic 45 and I think they have a nice antique look to them..I framed the picture with a gold paper border and added a piece of pretty vintage lace at the bottom..The snowflakes have blue gems in the center and there is lots of glitter on the card..If you click on the picture you can see it better..I rounded the corners to soften the look and I think it makes the card look more vintage..
I also love this old fashioned ice skating couple..I used two different blue papers for the background to give a wintry feel to the card and added a piece of paper doily to the bottom, which kind of reminds me of snowflakes..The two adhesive snowflakes are very sparkly and give a bit of an icy feel..I love rounding the corners of these cards, it just goes with the look, I think....I'm finding both cards show up much better, for some reason, if you click on the pictures..
Thank you for stopping by to see my Christmas cards..There are more to come..Kathy
