Black and Cream Victorian Lady

This lovely, Victorian lady is for a card swap over at my ArtHaven group, using black and cream with a bit of lace..I love this image and so enjoyed creating this card...The floral background paper is one of my favorites..I added some cream lace and some black lace..The black roses are paper and I added tiny, cream colored pearls to their centers and to the neck of her dress...Then I attached some black netting to the rose on her hat and fixed it so that she had a veil covering her face..It gives some dimension to the look..I just love the vintage ladies in their hats with veils..So elegant!..I left the card blank inside...

I'm thinking that this could be used for a sympathy card...Do you think so?...Would it be appropriate, do you think?..I would love your comments about this...

I have to get started on a baby card and hope to have it done soon...I'm happy it's for a girl so that I can use pinks and frilly things...Hope you are enjoying the end of summer..It has been a hot one and I am soooooo ready for autumn....Thank you for visiting my blog today...See you soon...Kathy

Floral Pocketbook Birthday Card

I created this pocketbook card for my sister's birthday...I love the rosebud print paper which I have had in my stash for a long time and wanted to use it as a base for the purse...I was going for a very floral and feminine look...I added 3 layers of the maroon lace, a big, pink paper flower, some adhesive pearls and the rose colored ribbon for the handle...My sister loves butterflies so I punched one out of pink card stock and added pink glitter to it for a little sparkle...I also edged the floral paper in Victorian Velvet distress ink...She loved the card and I'm so happy about that...Happy Birthday Helene!!!

Well, it''s time to move on to Halloween cards and maybe some tags, too...So, I'm looking forward to having fun with that...I love this time of year and it has turned delightfully cool here in the Boston area with some of the trees already starting to turn...I'll be back soon with some Halloween treats...Thank you for stopping by my blog......Kathy
