Round Paper Mache Box

Front View
This is a paper mache box that I made for a friend...I got out the acrylics and painted it in blue and white stripes...On the top of the cover I added a vintage crocheted doily and some pretty, paper flowers with pearls in matching colors...My friend is a professional seamstress and artist so for a sewing look I draped tape measure ribbon around the front of the box and added lots of vintage buttons...I also painted the top of a wooden spool with blue flowers and wrapped a pretty strip of lace around it for her to use...I placed the spool inside the box as part of the gift...She loved it and has it displayed in her sewing room and I'm so happy about that...

Fashion Lady 1912 Card

Fashion Lady Card
I'm back after a bit of a break and some internet and e-mails problems...I'll start off the New Year with this birthday card that I made for a dear friend...I used the lovely "A Ladies' Diary" papers from Graphic 45...I couldn't resist these gorgeous papers so I bought the 12x12 pad...That way I can use and enjoy them without hoarding them...LOL

The card is a very long 8 inches and was fun to work on in that size...I used my lace edge, paper punch for the first time and I love the result...I'll be using that again, for sure...I stamped Happy Birthday inside and did a little decorating around that but forgot to take a photo...I also did some distressing along the edges with a Tea Stain distress ink from Tim Holtz..

I have a handpainted box and notecards that I will add soon...Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today...Hope everyone is keeping warm in this freezing, cold weather......Kathy

Handpainted Snowman Mitten Ornament

Hello everyone!!!!!  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving...The Christmas season is upon us now and here is my first piece of art for 2012...It is a wooden mitten that I painted for an ornament swap in my ArtHaven group...It was fun to get out my acrylic paints and I love to paint snowmen and snowladies...This is Jingles with her warm hat and scarf...I wish the German glass glitter showed up on the cuff of the mitten but the camera didn't pick it up...It gives it a nice sparkle...

I have to get busy on some Christmas cards for the Cancer Center next and then I have to make my cards for family and friends...Busy days ahead, for sure...I will be back soon to show you what I come up with......Thank you for stopping by my blog today...Let me know what you think of Jingles...Kathy

Wedding Card

Hi everyone...I have a wedding card to show you today...It's a bit non traditional, I guess, but I think the bride and groom will like it...The images are from Graphic 45 once again...Love their papers!!!  The background papers have a little bit of a sheen and the cream colored lace has a sparkly, gold edge to it..I added a little bouquet in the bride's hand and made streamers of a soft, green ribbon...A few soft, gold pearls complete the look...I added the little tag that says "Le Romantique" and on the inside I stamped "Congratulations."

I'm working on Halloween cards and even a Christmas project or two...A very chilly, dreary day here today...I have recently made some chicken soup, beef stew and banana bread...Yummy autumn cuisine...Thanks for visiting my blog today....I so appreciate it....Kathy
