Happy Birthday Balloons

Front Of Card

Inside Card
I had so much fun making this birthday card for my friend, Katie, who just turned 9..Her mother said she loves monkeys and the color red so this is what I came up with..

I drew and painted the balloons using watercolor pencils..I added some ladybug stickers and used a black pen to draw the strings..The monkey sticker on the inside is just too cute..The card itself is very long and narrow, measuring 4x9 inches..I love the shape and thought it was perfect for a bouquet of balloons..

It is so hot in here in the Boston area and I am NOT enjoying it..Can't wait for autumn..I hope you like my card..It's a bit of a different look for me..Thank you for stopping by..Keep cool everyone...Kathy

Floral Thinkning Of You Card

Polka Dots and Flowers
Well, here I am again at long last..I can't believe I have neglected my poor blog for so long..I had a lot of things going on and the time just seems to have flown by..

I used my watercolor pencils to draw and paint the flowers on this card..Then I mounted it on purple polka dot paper with paper lace doilies peeking out from behind..I added a strip of vintage lace at the bottom, the butterflies and lots of tiny, white pearls to finish it off..

I now realize how much I have missed doing something creative..Thank you for your patience and I hope to see you here often..I think I'm back again, finally..........Kathy

Cheryl's Awesome Watercolor Painting

Time For Lunch by Cheryl M.
I am sharing with you today this beautiful watercolor painted by my daughter, Cheryl, when she was a senior in art school...Sadly, she passed away shortly after...The detail is amazing and the colors so perfect...I finally framed it and have it hanging in my kitchen where it has become the focal point of the room...

Cheryl was a gifted artist with an amazing talent in all areas of art...She was, also, the most beautiful person I have ever known...I think she would love having her art displayed on my blog...I hope you enjoy seeing a piece of her work and thanks so much for stopping by...Kathy

By The Beautiful Sea

Come On In..The Water's Fine

Well, I had tons of fun making this birthday card for my friend Nancy...The lovely bathing beauty is from Pion Designs...I am in love with their beautiful papers...I used two different bluish-green polka dot papers in the background and behind the picture I added gauze to give the look of a fishing net...A few summery flowers, a sandcastle and starfish, some pearls and a few tiny, turquoise, gem stars finished off the card...I was going for a summery look of a day at the beach...Oh and I stamped the words and cut them out...

I have a summery tag to share soon, also, but I'll wait until my swap partner, Diann, in my OCT art group receives it before I post it...Other goodies coming soon, too...I'm in a very creative mood and lovin' it...Thanks so much for popping in today...It's always so good to see you.......Hope everyone is having a nice summer...I'm loving our cool temps but I'm sure we will be sweltering soon...I'm not a fan of the heat..............Kathy

Potted Plant Drawing

Spring Has Sprung

Back
I have had the urge to get out my colored pencils and sketchbook to do some drawing..My African violets are blooming like crazy and, so, I decided drawing one of them would be a good start..When it was finished I then decided to make the drawing into a birthday card for my friend, who loves purple...I cut the drawing out of the sketchbook and glued it onto a pretty purple and white polka dot paper, with a white, paper doily peaking out from behind..I added white lace at the bottom and scattered some crocheted flowers with tiny white pearls that I glued in the center...

This is not a card that you open..It's more like a postcard with the greeting on the back...I went crazy drawing little violets all over and had a hard time knowing when to stop..This is something a little different, for me, and I had such fun making this card...I hope it puts you all in a springy mood....Thanks for looking...Please come again soon.........Kathy

Love Is In The Air
Sharing a wedding card today that I made for my friend's daughter...The bride loves vintage and her gown was very Downton Abbey, so I thought this photo was perfect...I used pretty papers, lace, flowers and pearls to create a soft romantic look and using colored pencils, I highlighted the bride's face and veil in soft pinks...I hope you like it...

I am working on some more cards and hope to have them done soon...As always, I thank you for visiting my blog...Please check back often...Kathy

Witch's Shoe Cards

Have A Haunting Halloween!!!

BOO!!!
Here are a couple of witch's shoe cards I made for Halloween...I drew two slightly different styles of shoes/boots on black folded card stock..I then cut them out and drew each flower, on the front of the card and on the back, with colored pencils..Took awhile too..I added the little ghosts and orange ribbon laces and used silver and gold mettalllic pens to outline and highlight...Unfortunately, the camera didn't pick up the sparkle that gave each shoe...

I love Halloween and this was a fun, new design to play with...I used black envelopes and stamped spooky images in white and wrote the addresses in white, as well...Happy Halloween to all and thanks for visiting my blog...Kathy...

High Heel Shoe Cards...

For awhile now I have been wanting to make a cut out card of a high heel shoe...So, I folded a piece of paper, drew the shoe in pencil and then cut the shape out...I added the pretty papers, embellished with flowers and jewels for a bit of bling...These are birthday cards but maybe a witch's shoe would be fun to do for Halloween...

It feels like autumn here tonight and I love it!  Thank you for visiting my blog today..Please come again soon......Kathy
