Ice Cream Cone Card

I hosted an ice cream card swap in my ArtHaven group this month...The ladies made some delightfully, yummy looking cards and we're sending them to, Shirley, for the patients at the cancer center to use as they wish...We will be doing this with Halloween and Christmas cards, too, and I am so looking forward to doing that...

For my card I drew the ice cream cone on folded watercolor paper then used colored pencils and watercolor pencils and cut the shape out when I was done... I added lots of glitter glue on the ice cream and the drips and melty part...It gives the card some sparkle and shimmer but the camera didn't pick that up, unfortunately...I topped it off with a red, heart shaped jewel for the cherry on top...

So, that's what I have been up to and I have a couple of more cards to make for August...I'm looking forward to September when the weather will be cooler...I am not a fan of the summer heat and it has been pretty hot here lately... I would love to know what you think of my ice cream card...Thanks so much for stopping by and your comments are most appreciated...Keep cool...Kathy

Little Girl's Pocketbook Card

I made this cute pocketbook, birthday card for my little friend, Katie, who turned 5 this week...Her mother told me she loves it and they are saving it to hang on their Christmas tree...I am so honored..

I drew the shape in pencil and then cut it out...I tried to choose pretty papers that a little girl would delight in and I thought the two floral patterns went well together..I added some very girly cream colored lace, different shades of pink flowers with light green jewels in their centers, some pink pearls and a pretty pink lace handle...This was fun to do and I will be back soon with a summertime card...Thanks for dropping by...Hope to see you again soon............Kath

Pansy Cut Out Card

Well, I am finally back to my blog that I have totally neglected for so long...My creativity was lost for awhile there but I'm slowly getting my mojo back...

I started this cut out pansy card quite awhile ago and just finished it today...I used watercolor paper and first drew the shape of the pansy, then did the painting with tube watercolors and watercolor pencils...I cut the pansy shape out and stamped "A Little Birdie Told Me That It Was Your Birthday" on the inside in green..It's for a friend and has now become a belated birthday card...Better late than never, though..The camera didn't quite pick up the sharpness of the color...It's a little more defined than what you see...

I have a couple of more cards to do and I'm hoping to be back again on a regular basis...Thank you all for keeping in touch and I appreciate all your visits even when I wasn't posting anything new...Hope you are enjoying your summer.......Kathy
